Give Your Headboard New Life With A No-Sew IKEA Hack

A gorgeous headboard can be the statement piece of any bedroom. Yet finding the perfect headboard at a reasonable price can be a challenge. Luckily, there are simple ways to give your bedroom a refresh without spending a fortune and this no-sew IKEA hack is certainly one to add to the list!

Easy DIY headboards can help upgrade your bedroom. Start by heading to IKEA to purchase a HOLMVI Throw blanket. The blanket will become the color of your new headboard, so make sure that you find a color that you like. If this IKEA throw blanket isn't your style, you could always head to the fabric store to find the color or pattern you are looking for. For this project, you will also want to make sure you have a staple gun and some extra padding, like a wadding or a quilt batting. Once you've gathered all of your materials, you will be ready to get crafting!

Creating this DIY is so simple you will be surprised you didn't think of it sooner! Start by cutting the batting so it is a little longer than your fabric headboard. You may want to create a few layers of the padding, in which case, make sure to use some spray adhesive to help the padding stick together. Then, wrap the batting around the baseboard so that it reaches the back of the board. You don't need to cover the back because it won't be visible. Using a staple gun, staple the padding around the four edges of the headboard. Next, take the IKEA throw blanket and wrap it around the headboard. Use the staple gun again to secure it to the back.
