Use A Dollar Tree Kitchen Essential To Keep Records Organized While On Display

If you haven't heard, vinyl is cool again — and so is displaying it. One look at the album art tells you why. An album cover is like a painting with a song inside, and with famous examples like "Rubber Soul" and Taylor Swift's "1989" as options, it's no wonder fans love to display their collection. Unfortunately, vinyl display options get expensive quickly, like this MCS Record Album Frame listed at $34.99. Even the most affordable options are typically several dollars per display, and who wants to put up only one album? Luckily, a Dollar Tree mainstay that's just $1.25 — the Cooking Concepts Wire Napkin Holder — makes for a great vinyl display. It's just as useful as another Dollar Tree solution for storying and displaying vinyl records.

Repurposing this small Dollar Tree napkin holder is a popular project in the crafting community, so if you struggle to find one in stock in person, here's a tip: You can order straight from the Dollar Tree warehouse and get 24 for $30. You'll also need some tacks and possibly a level. Before you go further, note that this trick only works on drywall. If you want to display your albums on a brick or stone wall, consider an adhesive solution, like this Antilope Wall Mount for $13.

How to organize a vinyl display with a Dollar Tree napkin holder

Once you decide where to display your albums, think about how many you want to put on the wall and the average size of each sleeve. Place a tack in the wall with either your finger or a hammer, and then hang the napkin holder from the middle of its outer rim. Adjust it until it sits flat, and then place the album inside the holder, angled toward the wall. You've just made a great vinyl record display for a fraction of the cost to buy one. Once you've placed the first album, you can use it as a guide to hang the others on the wall (or you can just hang them willy-nilly — it's your call).

If the napkin holder is a bit too utilitarian of a look for you, wrap it in yarn as @mamajean15 on TikTok did. You can choose any color you want, and you'll end up with a soft, warm accessory that displays your favorite records in a fun and organized way. You can do this using nails for a more permanent solution, but using a tack causes less damage.
