How To Make A Swivel Storage Bin To Solve Your Organization Problems
Struggling with fitting extra storage in your home? There is always the option to purchase Dollar Tree storage bins to organize your home. Or, you could DIY a swivel storage bin to help solve your organization problems! To get started on this project, all you need are two round bins that would otherwise be thrown away, and a wooden dowel.
Instagram user @genevavanderzeil shows how easy it is to create this project. Start by gluing the wooden dowel to the bottom of the first bin. You want the dowel to be as tall as the two bins when stacked top of each other. Glue the dowel towards the side of the bin, not in the center. Then, drill a hole in the bottom of the second bin and in one of the lids. Spray paint the bins, lid, and dowel a color of your choice, followed by a sealant. This creator chose a glossy red color, but you could choose any color that would match your home's decor. Next, slide the second bin onto the dowel, and then the lid. Keep the lid secured by using a zip tie. This creator filled the top with dirt and used it as a garden, but you can use it for small knick knacks or for items that need a temporary home.
Customize this DIY for all your organization needs
Developing a smart organization habit that helps you declutter your home is important, and so is having stylish and practical organization bins. This DIY project would be a great addition to any home organization system, and it is easy to customize. Rather than making the project two bins tall, you could make it with just one bin. This would be great if you are trying to use this project as storage for a kid's room.
Need some new living room storage? End tables that look similar to this project are also very popular. You could give the bin a wood-like look using stick-and-peel wallpaper. Then, attach the lid on top and cover with a different color like black or more wallpaper. This will function as a cute end table, and also as hidden storage. If you want more surface area, add two lids to the top rather than one. To add more height, add legs to the bottom of the container. You could also add wheels to allow your storage to easily move from one space to the next. Feeling inspired by this DIY to organize your entire home?
