Reuse Jar Lids To Make Beautiful Autumnal Walnut Candle Holders
If you have a bunch of mismatched lids to jars cluttering your kitchen, you can use one to easily create a stunning autumn candle holder. By gluing whole walnuts around a lid in rows, you'll craft the cutest seasonal candle holder that'll make your space feel perfectly cozy. The jar lid will be the base of the holder that your candle sits in, so be sure that it's wide enough for the candle you'd like to use. While lids from items like pasta sauce will work great for this project, if you're using a mason jar lid, you may want to glue the flat piece into the ring so your candle holder has a bottom. Faux greenery, florals, and other autumnal accents can be added to this project to give it the perfect look for your home.
If you don't love the round look of whole walnuts, you can also craft your candle holder using opened shells. This will also make your project more economical, as you could use the shells from nuts you've already eaten. Even beginners can DIY this trendy candle holder in just a few minutes with a little hot glue and creativity.
Crafting an adorable fall candle holder
First, wash your jar lid with soap and water and get out your walnuts, like this 1-pound bag of whole walnuts in shell. Place a small dab of hot glue onto your walnut and place it sideways or upright on the edge of the jar lid. You might place the glue onto the seam of the shell or the smoother side, depending on what look you prefer. Repeat this process with each walnut as you make your way around the lid, orienting the nuts in the same direction to make your project look uniform.
Once you've covered the lip of the jar lid, start creating a second row of walnuts on top of the first. Add glue to the opposite side of your walnuts as before, then place each directly atop one walnut. Alternatively, you might stagger the top row a bit from the bottom for a different aesthetic. With taller candles, you could add a third row, but you won't want the walnuts or any part of the holder close to the flame. When your rows are finished, you might add a little faux baby's breath or green leaves, such as the Winlyn mixed eucalyptus leaves bouquet, on Amazon for $10. Other fall decorations would look great with your walnuts, like Dollar Tree's burlap leaves. Beads could also be glued onto the holder for a little extra flair. Now, you can DIY adorable home decor with leftover jar lids for the coziest fall candles.
