Bring Fall Vibes To Your Garden With Adorable Pool Noodle Planter Pumpkins

Fall is a great time to explore your creativity. One of the best materials to use for fall DIY projects? Pool noodles. Yes, you may have seen ingenious ways to use pool noodles around the house, but fall is where pool noodles can really shine. You can even use pool noodles and a few other items to make adorable pumpkin planters for your yard or patio. Your supplies for this include a set of four pool noodles, an Exacto knife, a staple gun, a plastic planter, a large wooden dowel, and a can of orange spray paint. You'll be cutting the noodles in half, spraying them orange, and then attaching them to a planter to form a pumpkin outline.

Start making your DIY planter by cutting your noodles in half lengthwise. Cut all of the noodles apart in this manner, and then you will have eight noodle halves. Next, take your planter, turn it over, and staple each noodle piece to the bottom of the planter, fanning them out — sort of like a big spider with eight legs. Once they're all stapled in place, spray the planter and attached noodles orange, flipping them over for complete coverage. While they dry, spray paint the wooden dowel. Once all are dry, fill the planter with soil, adding the dowel in the middle. Finally, you will trim the noodles' ends at a slant, then bending them toward the dowel and stapling in place. Add a finishing coat of spray paint, and then transfer your new fall flowers to the planter. Optional is topping the dowel with a handful of faux leaves.

Going further with a DIY pumpkin planter project

These DIY pumpkin planters are excellent crafts to accent your garden for when you changeover your home from summer to fall, but you don't have to stick with the orange color scheme when you create them. You could also try spray painting the planter and noodles in cream, pink, soft green, purple, or pale orange for some variation. Just imagine how they would look when you cluster several together. Want to make your planter pop at night? Try outlining the noodles with fairy lights, which creates an interesting outline of a pumpkin in the darkness. You'll likely thrill some trick-or-treaters with the sight.
