DIY A Gorgeous Garden Wall Using Dollar Tree Flower Pots And Wood Pallets

Flowers and greenery add endless charm to both our interior and exterior spaces, with seemingly unlimited options for wall-mounted planters, hanging plant configurations, and other methods that use organic elements to make homes more inviting, layered, and inspired by the natural landscape. Plant walls in particular can be a great way to decorate a large and empty wall or create a dynamic focal point. Supplies and custom installation for an entire plant wall could get expensive, however. Many homeowners choose DIY projects as a way to bring the outdoors indoors. TikTok user @craftsandeverythinginbet recently showed off an amazingly budget-friendly idea for a lush garden wall that uses all materials from Dollar Tree — a project that is not only easy to pull together, but has beautiful and customizable results.

You will need several crafter's wood pallets from Dollar Tree (they come in flat and two sided versions, either of which will work for this project depending on whether you want them to hang against the wall). You will also need wood glue, a sturdy adhesive like E6000, and several stackable plastic planters, also from Dollar Tree. All elements combined, the project can be done for under $10 depending on the completed size of your plant wall.

Creating a wood pallet garden wall

Begin by finishing or painting the wood pallets in your desired shade or stain. Glue the pallets together top-to-bottom, or end-to-end, with wood glue to create taller or longer pieces. Allow them to dry thoroughly. For additional support, you can also add wooden craft sticks to the back of them as braces. @craftsandeverythinginbet's TikTok video also uses pallet pieces of graduating height, but you can configure your pallets in any arrangement you like. To attach the planters to the wood pieces, cut the trio of plastic pots into three segments, each with a flat area that rests against the wood secured by the E6000 (you can also just use single planters cut in half or other types of containers that will rest flat enough to glue onto the wood.) Fill the planters with faux flowers and plants, also available in many designs from Dollar Tree.

This makes a perfect arrangement for indoors to spice up a blank wall or on an outdoor garden wall, home exterior, or fence. Fill them with real plants that will work in a vertical garden. Just make sure to treat your wood pallets with a protective coat to battle the elements. While the terracotta version here gives a cottage-style vibe, you can go more elegant with other varieties of planters that you glue to the wood pallets, including clear glass, galvanized metal, or faux stone planters that grant a more elevated look.
