Dollar Tree's Stacking Bins Have The Potential For A Total Closet Transformation

Is your clothes closet cluttered and disorganized? If so, it might need to undergo a total transformation. Sure, you can accomplish this by DIYing closet shelves to make the most of your storage space, but this option is pricey and time consuming. Fortunately, there is an easier and more affordable way to get your belongings sorted away inside of your closet. All you need are some Dollar Tree items: the Colorful Stackable Plastic Baskets, as well as the same amount of Closet Essentials Collapsible Storage Containers. These will each cost $1.25. To design your DIY storage system, start by stacking the plastic baskets on top of each other with the inside of the basket facing forward, then place a fabric storage container inside each basket. That's all there is to it!

You can pull the collapsible storage containers toward you to slide them out of the plastic baskets and place folded clothing items inside, similar to how you would use a drawer. However, feel free to place whatever closet pieces you prefer inside of the collapsible containers instead of just regular clothes. This might include shoes, accessories, or seasonal items. You can also set this storage system up in a linen closet or another empty space like in a hallway if you need to organize those areas of your home as well. This is a great way to ensure your space is organized as a renter, as it doesn't involve drilling into or damaging walls.

Tips for building this Dollar Tree bin storage system

To complete this DIY Dollar Tree closet storage system, the TikToker set up two tall columns of six plastic bins against the back wall of the closet and filled them with the fabric containers. There is also a third stack of baskets off to the side that are stacked at a slight angle. Feel free to use this alternative stacking method as well.

It's not obvious whether @anniemariearanda adhered the bins to the back wall of the closet, but you might want to take this extra step to ensure that they do not topple over. The Cakle No Drill Furniture Anchors make it easy to do this. Simply follow the product instructions to stick them onto the plastic baskets and your wall to keep everything in place.

Furthermore, if you do not like the color options available for the plastic basket and collapsible storage container, consider spray painting the plastic bins or purchasing alternative products instead. The ClearSpace Plastic Storage Bins are a great alternative, and since these storage baskets are clear, they will mesh well with whatever color and design scheme you currently have in your closet. The Mini Storage Baskets would also be a good replacement for the Collapsible Gray Fabric Storage Containers if you prefer bright colors and patterns. They are small enough to fit inside either version of the plastic baskets, making them a versatile choice.
