Costco's Fun Halloween Decor Is Perfect For Disney Fans

When a chill creeps into the air and the calendar turns to October, it's time to decorate for Halloween. Every Halloween enthusiast has their preferred style of decor, and luckily, there's no shortage of interesting decorations for sale at various stores, including Costco. Some people like to transform their houses into all things sinister and macabre, with ghosts, bats, and skeletons a-plenty. Others lean more toward the whimsical and creepy-cute in their decorating style, choosing delight over fright. If you're the latter, with a deep abiding love of cute things, particularly a familiar mouse with red pants, Costco has the ideal pieces for your home. Its selection of adorable new decor includes the Disney Haunted Party House, Disney Animated Pirate Ship, Disney 9' Halloween Arch, and Disney Mickey Jack-O-Lantern.

Two of these new Disney Halloween decorations are highly-detailed decor pieces for a Halloween village, tabletop, or mantle that feature Mickey and friends in costumes. Whether you want an elaborate centerpiece for your Halloween village or an item to decorate your home's exterior, you'll find something that works BOO-tifully for your needs. We've analyzed the reviews to get the real scoop on these pieces that have fans flocking to Costco for Disney magic in their Halloween setups.

Add Disney magic with animated centerpieces

Costco's Disney-centric Halloween decor previously went viral, selling out quickly. The Disney Haunted Party House, $49.97, is this year's spooktacular find, featuring Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and others ready to greet trick-or-treaters at a creepy old mansion. Sharp-eyed Disney fans will notice that two of Donald's nephews are in costumes identical to what they wore in the 1952 Disney short "Trick or Treat," with one in a ghost costume and the other as a devil. The decoration has multi-color lights and a haunting tune, which can be controlled with a volume control slider. While the piece has an average 4.8 rating, the music is a criticism for several reviewers as it's the same tune as other Disney Halloween pieces and runs in a loop, which may be annoying to some.

As for the next piece, it's a pirate ship of Disney characters sailing the haunted high seas. The Disney Animated Pirate Ship, also $49.97, shows Mickey at the front, sword at the ready, while Goofy steers the crew through spooky waters laden with pumpkins, ghosts, and skulls. A rocking motion gives the appearance that the ship is traveling the waves while multi-colored lights flash and the same tune from the Haunted Party House plays. Reviewers give this a 4.9 rating and like that you can turn off the music. Unfortunately, one buyer said it wouldn't turn back on after being turned off and was very disappointed it only worked for five minutes. For more of Costco's Disney finds, you may need to look beyond the village.

Costco has more Disney Halloween charm

The Disney 9' Halloween Arch may catch a fan's eyes, though the online price of $349.97 is making some stop in their tracks. While you could make a DIY pool noodle Halloween arch for your yard, most magic lovers may want this instead. It features a stack of Mickey-shaped Jack-o'-lanterns, with three on each side, each supporting the arch spanning 10 ½ feet wide. The final Mickey Jack-o'-lantern sits on top, accented by cobwebs made from strings of light. Reviewers are mixed with a score of 3, as some like the decoration and others think it's poorly-made. Multiple reviewers even said parts were already broken or melted off, and one reported they had multiple lights out after only a week.

If you want a highly-rated pumpkin decoration at a lower price, consider instead the Disney Mickey Jack-O-Lantern for $89.99, which has music and color-changing lights. Attendees of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party comment that is the most faithful recreation of the giant pumpkin on Walt Disney World's Main Street. With 133 reviews, it boasts a score of 4.8. Reviewers like the fact that it's cordless and comes with batteries so you can set it up nearly anywhere inside. Some are critical of the music feature, complaining that it plays the same song as the other Costco pieces. Others posted that they wish you could turn it off completely so the batteries last longer, though one buyer pointed out that you can mute it by turning the volume all the way down. The general consensus, however, is that it's a must-have for many Disney fans.
