Create The Perfect Anthropologie Fall Decor Dupe With Supplies From Dollar Tree
It's a common experience to walk into an expensive store like Anthropologie and immediately want to spend hundreds of dollars on decor in order to replicate the store's display in your own house. However, many of us are unable to impulsively drop that much money. If this is your situation, you're in luck, as there are plenty of ways to DIY Anthropologie styles on a budget with help from Dollar Tree. With this new dupe, you can recreate a felt pumpkin garland from Anthropologie using affordable Dollar Tree pumpkins. This is one adorable Dollar Tree DIY that will get your home ready for fall without spending lots of money.
Most simple Anthropologie fall decorations cost between $15 and $100. While the price for a single piece isn't extremely high, it's the accumulation of cost that really makes things difficult. The Anthropologie version of the Pumpkin Felt Garland costs $34 for 72 inches. While this isn't much, if you need more than one to cover your mantel or another area of your home, the price will add up fast. It's also currently out of stock, so if you want the decoration now, you may want to make it yourself. And anyways, who doesn't love spending way less money to get a very similar option? Not only that, but making your own garland allows you to personalize it to your liking. Find out how to DIY this fall decoration on a budget below.
How to make your own pumpkin garland
To begin, gather your materials. Instagram creator kateflipzit found Velvet Pumpkin Clips at her local Dollar Tree, which come in packs of three for $1.25 and are available in six stylish fall colors. She also used some twine, which you can get from Dollar Tree as well if you don't already have some. Choose either the Crafter's Square Colorful Baker's Twine or the Natural Jute Cord.
Next, follow these simple steps to create your pumpkin garland. Start by removing the clip on each pumpkin, being sure to get rid of the hot glue residue on the bottom of the piece. You can banish hot glue stains from fabric with some rubbing alcohol and acetone if you have a remaining spot from where the clip was. Then, string the twine tightly around the stem of each pumpkin so that it holds the pumpkin in place, and space them out by about 6 inches. That's it!
If desired, add additional Dollar Tree elements to your garland with hot glue to personalize it, such as the Polyester Maple Leaves or Assorted Harvest Felt and Glitter Icons Decor. You can make the garland as long or short as you like. Measure your fireplace mantle, living room walls, or staircase railing to find the ideal placement and fit it to that. These garlands will be perfect for all of October and November, because they blend right into Thanksgiving decor once Halloween is over. They are also easy to store in the off months so you can save them to enjoy for years to come.
