DIY A Hauntingly Easy Ghost Wreath For Halloween Using Dollar Tree Supplies
If you're hoping to decorate your porch for the spooky season, you can use Dollar Tree items to DIY a custom wreath that's perfect for Halloween. A wreath form, some deco mesh, pipe cleaners that match your mesh, glue, and a Dollar Tree ghost are all you need to craft gorgeous door decor on a budget. With the low cost retailer's Halloween wreath decoration kit, which comes with two halves of a ghost, you'll be able to make a unique, dynamic wreath with a sign or ribbons in between the head and tail of your ghost.
For this project, you'll also need one of the retailer's wooden Halloween signs, though you'll just use one rectangular piece of it for your wreath. Otherwise, you can paint a wood plank and write a phrase like "boo" or "trick or treat" in the center. Since your sign and ghost will be the focus of your decoration, using black mesh for the background will help your wreath really pop; however, if you want just a bit more flair, Dollar Tree's sparkly spider web mesh is a great choice. Additional accents, such as bows, fake spiders, or Halloween-themed ornaments can be added to the wreath at the end to make it uniquely yours. This cheap and easy Halloween decoration DIY will help you get your house spooky quickly and without breaking the bank.
Crafting a haunting ghost wreath
First, cut your pipe cleaners in half and bend them in the middle. You can style your wreath in different ways, either tying pieces of mesh onto the wire form with pipe cleaners or making poofs with your mesh along the form. For the first method, simply cut your mesh into strips that are several inches long and tie each onto the wreath with a pipe cleaner until it looks full. Otherwise, take two rolls of mesh, attach the ends using a pipe cleaner, and fix it onto the two middle wires of the form by twisting the pipe cleaner. Tie another about 8 inches down your mesh, secure to the wreath, and push it against the first. Continue this process around the entire wreath, creating your poofs.
If you plan to use a sign in the center of your ghost, glue the edges of the top and bottom pieces onto the back of the sign. Glue a pipe cleaner onto each short side of your sign. Now, lay your ghost over your wreath to get it in the perfect spot and tie the sign's pipe cleaners to the form. Glue your ghost onto the mesh so it doesn't move, and tie its strings to the wreath as well. Alternatively, attach your ghost then fill the center with ribbons. Glue on ribbons, bows, and other accents to finish. With this DIY, you'll create a festive Halloween wreath on a budget that makes your porch look hauntingly cute.
