TikTok account @trimoweruk, a "leading new brand for innovative garden care products," showcases one of the inventions: it lends a set of wheels to your string trimmer or battery-powered weed eater. Their videos show the attachment seamlessly pushing a trimmer through tall grass with ease. Customers who have used their product state that it was easy to attach and makes trimming the grass easier. While TriMowerUK is not based in America, and does not offer international shipping, there are plenty of U.S.-based companies that have created similar products, but do they actually facilitate a better lawn trimming experience?

While it seems like screwing on a set of wheels to your heavy string trimmer would be a no-brainer way to simplify your job, the truth is a little less apparent. One of the best-selling trimmer wheel attachments on Amazon is the JOOPSAM Support Wheel Attachment for around $36. It features 6-inch wheels with a handle clamp that allows you to screw in whatever string trimmer you own and, in theory, push the tool from behind. It is advertised as a way to make trimming your tall grass and weeds easier, minimizing physical discomfort from the often-tiresome task. Many customers, however, have a different experience.

The JOOPSAM attachment has very mixed product reviews, with only 41% of customers offering five-star satisfaction. Product design seems to be a common trend in buyer dissatisfaction; unlike the TriMowerUK attachment, whose wheels are close enough together to change directions easily and has a simple clip attachment, the JOOPSAM product reviews mention the clamp scratching the weed trimmer's shaft. Reviewers also note an inability to quickly adjust the height. 

Additionally, since the wheels are so far apart, the string trimmer cannot easily be moved side to side if you need to change directions or rotate while using a weed whacker for garden edges in your lawn. One review says, "Thanks to the fixed wheels, you still have to lift it up and move it sideways when you want to cut the edge of the grass." Unfortunately, competitors of JOOPSAM have similar reviews, making this product idea — for now, at least — seem better in theory than in reality.
