Costco's Cozy Sectional Might Just Be A Dupe For The Viral Cloud Couch

Restoration Hardware's Cloud Sofa, colloquially known as the "cloud couch," went viral in 2015 when it first launched, popping up everywhere from celebrity homes to influencers' Instagram feeds. Its deep seats and pillow-like back cushions made it look like the ultimate in comfort, inspiring weekends at home or long movie binge marathons. However, the price wasn't very attainable for the regular Joe. Costing over $10,000 depending on which configuration you get, it is definitely a luxury purchase. However, if you want a similar aesthetic but not the Restoration Hardware price, then Costco might be able to help. Its Sereen 6-piece Fabric Modular Sectional is a decent dupe for the viral sofa

The Cloud Sofa is a modular piece, consisting of an arm seat, middle seat, and ottoman. You can then buy as many pieces as you need to fit your particular space. Costco's Sereen sofa is the same in that it is also modular. It comes with six pieces, one of which is an ottoman, while another is an arm seat. Just like the Cloud, it also is stuffed with down feathers and a foam core, creating a pillow-soft cushion. Its cushions are also unattached and can be reversed or fluffed, making it a great sectional for your living room. However, there are some key differences. Here is a closer look.

How Costco's Sereen Modular Sectional differs from the Cloud Sofa

While these two couches are very similar in shape and design, they do have a few differences. The first is that the Costco version comes as one fixed shape, whereas Restoration Hardware's original is truly modular in that you can buy as many different pieces as you want to create a unique design. They also vary in color options. The Cloud Sofa comes in over 100 different color and texture options, varying from linen to boucle to velvet to leather. The Costco version, on the other hand, comes in two color options: light brown or dark gray polyester.

Lastly, they're also different depths. Since the Cloud Couch is famous for its deep seat that makes you feel like you're sinking into a cloud, this measurement is a large part of the aesthetic. The RH version has a 40 inch depth for the Classic sectional and a 45-inch depth for the Luxe Sectional, whereas Costco's version is 25.9 inches deep. However, other than these three points, it's a pretty impressive dupe of the original, and it's definitely a sofa that will revive your living room. You can't beat its price. It costs $2,399.99 online (which includes shipping) and $2,200 in-store.
