Keep Cords Neat & Organized With An Egg Carton You'd Otherwise Be Tossing
When you are rushing around the house trying to get ready to leave for a vacation, a business trip, or work, the last thing on your mind should be locating your earbuds or phone charger. Yet, it is so easy for these cords to get lost or become a jumbled mess inside your house's junk drawer.
Rather than spending your time trying to untangle your electronic cords as you are trying to rush out the door, repurpose an old egg carton to create this easy DIY. Not only is this project cheaper than buying a plastic cord organizer (which can cost you around $13 on Amazon), but it is also better for the environment. All you need to get started is an empty paper egg carton, some paper tape, a needle, and some thread.
Creating this egg-cellent DIY
To begin this egg carton DIY project, take your egg carton and cut out two of the pyramid-shaped pieces between where the eggs sit, as demonstrated in the video. Alternatively, you can use the actual location where the eggs sat, which will make the size and shape of your container slightly different. Once you've cut out your two halves, tape them together on one of the outer sides.
How you decorate your container is completely up to you! Use acrylic paint to decorate the two halves before sewing them together. Or, take a sharpie and write what you will be placing inside the container on the outside. That way, you can quickly find any item you are looking for. Then, sew the opposite side together with your favorite color string. Once the project is complete, add your electronic cords and earbuds. Keep creating as many containers as you need to organize all of your cords, or use this trick for other small items, like jewelry.
