So, why not keep that beach vacation going once you're back home, and upgrade any glass jar, thrifted vases, or even that oddball glass container you swore you'd repurpose someday?

First things first: You might want to collect a little sand during your beach escapade, but hold your horses! Some beaches frown upon sand removal, so to be on the safe side, it's better to purchase store-bought sand. It's safer, and you can even buy shells, faux seaweed and fake coral as decor. Just in case you're able to grab some local sand from your area (and it's completely legal and safe to do so), make sure it's completely dry before starting this project. Then pour the sand into your glass jar, layering in those additional treasures for a personal touch.  And there you go — you've turned those vacation vibes into an elegant piece of home décor that will turn your room into a beachy escape without breaking the bank!

Take one of the bags, add alcohol ink in different shades, keeping in mind that the more ink you drop in, the stronger the color will be, then close the bag tightly and shake and massage it until the dye has fully covered all the sand, then allow to dry completely. This should give you a bag full of colored sand, and if you'd like, repeat this step with several different colors to achieve various shades of dyed sand.

Once your sand is dry, try pouring it into a glass container in layers. Pour the first layer in, tamp the top slightly, then pour in a different colored layer. Repeat these steps until you have gotten the perfect layered look. You can also use a toothpick or a pencil and push the layers down into each other to create some cool artistic elements, or add seashells and other decorations for even more beachy yet sophisticated home decor! And then all that's left to do is pop it up somewhere in your home and enjoy.
