Create A New Vibe In Your Space With A Gorgeous Pool Noodle And Rose Backdrop

Whether you're hosting an event where pictures will be taken or simply want a fun, dedicated photo wall to put up whenever you have guests over, creating your own rose backdrop is sure to bring a luxe vibe to your space and be a major conversation starter. The great thing is, all you'll need is a garment rack, a pool noodle, faux roses, and some fabric. For this hack, you'll be attaching your pool noodle to the frame of the garment rack (available on Amazon for around $34), then inserting the stems of the faux roses into the noodle's foam.

For a more expensive-looking finish, match your pool noodle to the rack. If you aren't able to find one in the same color or would rather re-use what you already have, you can paint one — but be sure to keep in mind our word of caution about painting them. Alternatively, be sure to completely fill the noodle's foam with the faux blooms to conceal it.

You can choose to attach pool noodles all the way around the garment rack or stick to just one corner. If you go for the latter, this is a great project where you could repurpose old curtains. Otherwise, use a piece of fabric that's double the height of your rack. Pick a color that matches the specific kind of roses you're using and the overall vibe you're trying to achieve.

Customize your backdrop

One of the major perks of this hack is that you can really customize it however you'd prefer. Like we said, if you're not keen on using fabric, you could have roses all the way along the rack. That said, you don't even need to stick with just roses. Find faux versions of your favorite flower and use those, or swap them out season-to-season. You could even pop in more autumnal foliage for Thanksgiving or faux poinsettias ($20 for a six bunches on Amazon) closer to Christmas.

As for the space behind your backdrop, be sure to keep that super intentional. One option is to simply place the rack in front of a neutral wall. On the other hand, if you're not opposed to busier focal points, you have a bunch of options. For one, you could create a coffee filter flower accent wall. Alternatively, you could use our DIY pool noodle photo backdrop for summer parties tutorial as inspiration. Prefer something less labor-intensive? Play around with some peel-and-stick wallpaper and go for even more roses, or opt for a pattern in colors complimentary to the blooms you've pushed into your pool noodle. The opportunities are endless.

If you love this backdrop idea but don't have space for it year-round, that's fine, too. Simply place it in front of your curtains or a blank wall only on special occasions. Your space will still get that pick-me-up without taking up a ton of space. Between parties, you can easily deconstruct the backdrop for storage.
