Finally Clear The Clutter Off Your Desk With A DIY PVC Pipe Organizer

Having a cluttered desk isn't the best when you want to be productive. It can be a major distraction from the work you're trying to complete, which can lead to frustration and stress. A tidy desk, on the other hand, can help improve your time management by limiting distractions often associated with a messy pile of office supplies that are scattered across the surface. However, who has the time and money to purchase a bunch of desk organizers nowadays? Instead, why not create a unique version with a PVC pipe?

With just a few simple steps, you can turn a 2-foot PVC pipe with a 3-inch diameter from Home Depot for $6.74 into a eye-catching desk organizer that can fit all of your pens, pencils, and other small items. Other items you'll need to complete this project include a hacksaw to cut the pipe, PVC solvent cement to glue them together, and a rectangular wooden box to slide them into, which serves as a lovely frame.

Create a desk organizer with a PVC pipe

Before you start cutting your PVC pipe, you'll first need to select the wooden box you want to use. Then, measure the depth of it to see how far the pieces of PVC pipe can fit. For example, if the wooden box has a depth of 4-inches, mark the pipe every 4-inches so that you know where to cut. Once you're done with that, cut the PVC pipe into several pieces using the hacksaw. If you don't already have one in your tool box, you can purchase a 10-inch Anvil Hacksaw from Home Depot for $9.97.

Now that the PVC pipe has been cut into several pieces, it's time to stack them in a neat manner and glue them together with a PVC solvent cement, like the Oatey All Purpose Cement from Walmart for $6.25. However, before gluing them together, make sure the height and width of the stacked pieces of pipe fit within the wooden box. Finally, slide the glued pieces into the wooden box and fill them with whatever office supplies you'd like. If you want to add a personal twist to your DIY, we suggest painting the box with one of the Property Brother's favorite colors or adding fun stickers.
