These IKEA Bathroom Vanities Are Perfect For Packing Storage Into A Small Space
One of the most underrated household luxuries is storage space that keeps your bathroom functional and stylish by hiding all of the clutter. Unfortunately, not all homes are created equal, and sometimes you have to work with a tight space. That's where IKEA's small bathroom vanities come into play. The new HAVBÄCK, TÄNNFORSEN, and ÄNGSJÖN lines have smaller vanities that add storage space and style without requiring an entire bathroom renovation — and they come in enough varieties of colors and finishes that they can match just about any style.
According to Architectural Digest, the average bathroom remodel costs $28,500 to homeowners. IKEA's vanities offer a cost-effective solution, ranging from about $200 to $1,100 for models that will easily fit into your space. Many of the small vanity models are made of solid pine and have different options for installation. You can simply slide drawers around your current sink, or you can install a floating or standing vanity with its own sink built in. IKEA's new lines also offer a few methods of installation: you can take out your sink completely and replace it with a built-in, like the HAVBÄCK / ORRSJÖN, or you can place cabinets around your current sink like in the ÄNGSJÖN.
The ÄNGSJÖN large oak cabinets
The ÄNGSJÖN line offers three different finishes — brown oak, oak, or white gloss. The small, floating vanity in this line, called the ÄNGSJÖN / ORRSJÖN, is meant to be mounted onto a wall around the traditional plumbing. It also comes with a ceramic sink and a chic, simple silver faucet. The drawers in the vanity have a sleek divot along the top which is what makes this line unique from the other options, but may not be ideal for anyone who likes the added style of cabinet knobs.
If you're unable or unwilling to replace your sink, you can opt for the simple ÄNGSJÖN cabinet. This consists of a set of drawers, similar to the hack of using two IKEA corner shelves to create extra under-sink storage, but mounts under your sink so you can still achieve the floating look. The product comes in five different widths, ranging from 18 to 48 inches so that it can work with just about any bathroom sink.
HAVBÄCK and TÄNNFORSEN vanities with sinks included
The HAVBÄCK line has another floating vanity option that comes with a ceramic sink and silver faucet. This line is unique for its countertop space — instead of the sink area being flush with the drawers, there's a small countertop that surrounds the model. There are three varieties of the HAVBÄCK / ORRSJÖN which offer bamboo, black marble, or brown walnut styled counters. Once you select that material, you can also choose between beige, gray, or white drawers, making for nine total options.
The third new IKEA line, TÄNNFORSEN, offers a more traditional look with an inlaid beveled rectangle in each drawer. The design comes with or without a sink attachment, and the TÄNNFORSEN / ORRSJÖN even includes matching legs to add stability. Something notable about both of these vanities is that they do not come with handles for the drawers. If you're someone who loves to install your own drawer knobs or pulls, that gives you endless options but could be an added step that you will need to prepare for.
