So when you have a company like Casper that sells all kinds of bedtime necessities, it can be difficult to choose the right one for you. But we are here to tell you that, according to reviews, it seems you can't go wrong with the Casper Original Pillow. 

Although they're popular, Casper pillows don't promise to fix all your medical woes. Which, according to Harvard Medical School, is a good thing because any companies that do make those claims aren't likely to fulfill them. That said, whatever pillow works well for you may not be good for the next person, so it's all up to personal preference. "Anything that will make you more comfortable will improve the likelihood of getting a good night's sleep," says Dr. Lawrence Epstein, a sleep expert at the Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Of all of the pillows Casper offers, the Original Casper Pillow is by far the most popular. The company even calls it their best-selling design. This down alternative pillow is clump-resistant, machine washable, and comes in both standard or king sizing. Though it's able to be washed, you can also utilize this method of deodorizing and refreshing when it gets musty. With over 8,800 reviews, the Original has a rating on Casper's site of 4.1 out of 5 stars. At the time of writing, just over 60% of the reviews were 5 stars. 

Many positive reviewers mention the pillow's softness and how it helps with their neck or other sleep issues. One reviewer wrote: "My prior pillow provided no support and immediately became too soft and lost all shape. The Casper pillow has a lot of support while also being soft. I used to need 2 pillows to sleep, no longer with my new pillow. I recommend to anyone looking for sleep help." Many others say the same or that they're getting the best sleep they've ever had thanks to their Original Casper. 

Another 5-star reviewer said that they loved their pillow so much that they had to buy one for their husband too! "Now he's sleeping better, and not complaining about pains in his neck and back," they wrote. "So yes, I will be recommending this pillow to others. Thank you." 

Despite its many fans, the popular Original Casper Pillow still has its naysayers. As Harvard Medical School notes, pillows work differently for everyone. So it's important to highlight the ways in which this version hasn't worked out. Keep in mind, just shy of 6% of customers gave the Original a 1-star rating. Many who didn't like it cited too much firmness or the general size of the pillow. 

One reviewer suggested that the Original Casper might be best for just side sleepers, though the company says it should adapt to any sleep position.  "I really wanted to love this pillow, but it is way too firm for me," the reviewer noted. "If you are only a side sleeper, this might be the pillow for you. But if you tend to roll over onto your back every now and then, which is the case for me, you might end up waking up with headache like I did twice!" They also added to keep in mind that you can't return the pillows. Casper does have a 30-day warranty but only for unused merchandise. 

Some customers even disliked it after purchasing one in the past. One mentioned that this was their third purchase and it felt much different than the other two they had bought previously. No matter what, if you have to get rid of your old (or even new) pillow, be sure you dispose of it properly.
