Clean Up Your Yard In Seconds With This Easy Trick To Bag Grass Clippings

If you've ever let your grass grow a little too tall, you know you'll have to deal with piles of grass clippings. If you leave them on the ground, they will suffocate the turf beneath, leaving dead spots in your grass. Dealing with disposing of all those piles of grass can be a challenge if you're trying to hold a trash bag open while simultaneously raking up the clippings. This frustrating process will make you wish you had an extra pair of hands. Fortunately, Cyber Landscaping and The Lawn Review on YouTube have figured out an easier way to clean up those clippings by suggesting you put a trash bag over the ends of your feet.

While this method won't capture every blade of grass, you can use a broom or leaf blower for a more thorough clean up, if needed. Either way, you'll have those clippings quickly packed away, with this time-saving technique. You can even make this approach more eco-friendly by repurposing the trimmings throughout your garden, like making grass clipping tea to nourish your plants, and using trash bags made from sustainable materials.

How to use the hack to bag your own clippings and what to expect

When trying this method for yourself, first you'll need to rake the cut grass into a pile. Then, you can fold the bag over the ends of your feet like putting on a pair of socks, but instead of slipping your feet inside a layer of fabric, you're tucking them between plastic. Once your feet are holding the bag open, your hands are free to scoop the clippings inside of it.

Overall, this process is helpful, but it won't pick up every blade of grass. Regardless of what type of grass you have, after the bulk of clippings are removed, a number of them may remain on the ground. You can incorporate some other tools to completely eliminate the grass trimmings. In this case, if you're removing the clippings from concrete, you can use a broom to brush the strays back onto the lawn. You may also opt for a leaf blower to disperse the leftover trimmings.
