Christina Hall Adds An Impressive Kitchen Feature That Is Perfect For Entertaining

If you're someone who loves to host parties throughout the year, it can be tiring to constantly run back and forth between your kitchen and patio during the spring and summer. Luckily, Christina Hall, a design and real estate expert and the star of HGTV's shows "Christina on the Coast" and "Christina in the Country," has the perfect remodeling solution. A pop-out window installed in her friend Carlos' kitchen became one of the best kitchen designs fans have seen from HGTV's Christina Hall.

In Season 4, Episode 11 of "Christina on the Coast," titled "Friendship for Ages," Hall's friends and clients ask about the possibility of bi-fold windows that could open up their kitchen for entertaining. Instead, Hall installs a window that pops out and props up, allowing easy access to pass dishes to and from the kitchen. With a simple pop-out window, you can transform your kitchen while connecting it to your outdoor entertainment space. This remodel idea is a great way to create the perfect balance between open concept and privacy in your home.

Benefits of pop-out windows

In the episode, Christina Hall explains how this pop-out window can help with parties and connecting spaces. "You guys have this amazing yard where you do all your entertaining, but now we can actually tie the inside with the outside," Hall says as she reveals the window to her friends. Besides allowing for easier entertaining, these pop-out windows are one of Hall's design tricks to make your kitchen look so much bigger. By connecting your kitchen counter with an outdoor bar area, you can make your space feel more open and therefore larger. These windows are also a great way to have better air circulation throughout your home, though they could let insects inside while open.

Additionally, there are some other reasons that Hall may have opted for a pop-out window rather than a bi-fold option. While bi-fold windows are generally on a track and need to be pushed aside, taking up some of the counter space, pop-out windows simply lift right up. This will allow you to have more room on your bar, making it easier to pull up a chair or set out a spread of food and drinks. Since pop-out windows don't have the several panes that make bi-fold ones able to move, you won't have to look past any stiles. Instead, you'll have a large glass window to gaze out of without any obstructions.
