Create A Fun Summer Game With This Easy Pool Noodle DIY
Looking for a fun staycation activity for your kids this summer? All you need is four pool noodles (currently available at Walmart for $23.99) and some tape. Fashioned into a set of three rings with the fourth noodle used as a javelin, we're not exaggerating when we say this is about to become your easiest go-to pool noodle hack ever.
Start by bending each of your first three noodles into a circle. Secure with some waterproof tape. Once that's done, arrange them in a triangle and secure them together using more tape. Just like that, you've got yourself a target practice.
As for the game itself, one participant can hold the rings up while others toss the other noodle — or even other items like beach balls or water balloons — through. What's more, while you really only need three noodles for the trio of rings, you can keep going with as many noodles as you can spare. Maximum pool noodles, maximum fun.
Playing this game outside the pool
No pool? No problem! This DIY hack works just as well out of the pool as it does in it. That makes it the perfect add-on to any outdoor pool noodle obstacle course. As with the in-pool variation, one player can hold up the rings while others throw another noodle through.
However, there are a few other ways to try this out if you're not in a pool. One option is to attach it to garden stakes (available on Amazon if you don't have any on hand), like the TikToker above did for an Olympics-themed game. Another is to simply place it on the ground. You won't be able to use a fourth noodle as a javelin for this, but you can use beanbags.
Like the pool option, there's no limit to how many noodles you use for out-of-the-pool target practice, so add on to your heart's content. The really great thing about this hack is that you can disassemble it easily, so if you spot another game you'd like to try at a later stage (or some other pool noodle hack for your home), you can always remove or rearrange some of them. In the meantime though, this DIY game is sure to be a winner all summer long.
