Why Tineco's FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 Is A Smart Choice For Cleaning Hard Floors
When it comes to cleaning your home, mopping the floors is undoubtedly one of the most appalling chores there is – mostly because it rarely requires just mopping. First you sweep, then you mop, then, finally, you sweep or vacuum the floor one last time to remove the reinvigorated specs of crud your mop left behind. This usually works just fine – assuming you have hours of free time every week to provide your floors with the tender love and care they deserve. Thankfully, technology has advanced enough to make both your old broom and mop obsolete.
The Tineco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 is a high-tech floor cleaner designed for hard surfaces such as tile, sealed wood, and vinyl. Among its claims to fame are an ultra-maneuverable design, innovative features such as debris detection, and integrated smart technology – yes, this "mop" can actually connect with your smartphone. It also fully reclines to 180 degrees, making it possible to quickly clean under your bed and desk, or under most kitchen cabinets.
While the product's specs (not to mention Tineco's reputation) are as solid as they come, sometimes hands-on experience is required to get a real feel for a new cleaning device. Luckily, I got to test out the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 on white kitchen and bathroom tile that had recently been enjoyed by a house full of party-goers in order to get a true idea of what this device is capable of.
Setting up the Tineco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6
When my Tinceco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 was delivered, I wasted no time cracking open the box and checking out the simple start-up guide. Frankly, I'm not the handiest of writers, so I was pleased to find that the product came nearly preassembled and that the setup instructions were easy enough for a child to follow. The ensemble includes a wired charging dock, cleaning brush, cleaning solution, and an extra filter and brush roller.
After assembling the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 (which amounts to little more than plugging the handle in), I placed it on its dock and got to check out the device's gorgeous LCD screen. It indicated a roughly 45-percent charge, so fully charging it took less than a couple of hours. It was also around this point that I noticed the device's voice prompts, which would come in really handy later. Once the device was charged, I turned it on and was immediately impressed with its swiveling handle and self-propelling motor. This was going to be fun.
The FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 offers exceptional maneuverability
Although you can push the Tinceco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 around like a traditional vacuum, its innovative 45-degree swiveling design, mini assistive wheels, and self propulsion mean that it can be "steered" with a slight turn of the wrist. I found this to be the best way to maneuver it and made quick work of all coffee grounds, food and wine stains, and cat food on the kitchen floor. While the device left the white tile exceptionally clean with little effort on my end, traversing the kitchen was made safe due to the fact that very little water was left on the floor, even after paying particularly close attention to incredibly dirty areas. When water was visible on the tile, it was always perfectly clean; the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 has a large dirty water tank, but this brown water never found its way onto the tile.
While my kitchen's low cabinet clearance can cause problems with the best-designed cleaning tools, this device fit beautifully under the cabinets and can even be maneuvered with the swiveling handle while completely flat. Even better, it cleaned just as efficiently while flat as it did upright, and even offered a helpful voice command so that I could adjust how I used it in a 180-degree position.
The FLOOR ONE Stretch S6's innovative smart technology makes life easier
While I was skeptical about connecting a cleaning device to my smartphone and Wi-Fi, it only took a few minutes to get the Tineco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 connected and the Tineco app downloaded – and I was glad that I did. Different flooring and house layouts require unique cleaning routines, so I loved the option of tweaking the device's settings via the easy-to-use app in order to maximize power or battery efficiency based on the application. That said, the device's default "auto" mode worked wonderfully in my home, although I did quickly switch it over to "max" mode a few times in order to clean some incredibly dirty spots in the food prep area.
Another nifty feature of the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 is its ability to automatically detect how dirty the floor is while using its "auto" setting. This allows it to increase its power when dealing with a filthy floor, which helps the device's roller head stay continuously clean, even while addressing unforgiving messes.
Of course, complex devices like this require upkeep, and the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 is no different. Thankfully, its voice prompt feature will quickly let you know when the clean water tank is empty, when the dirty water tank is full, or when it needs to complete a self-cleaning cycle. Taking the guesswork out of routine maintenance is a smart feature that will undoubtedly keep your device running smoothly for as long as possible.
Cleaning the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 was a piece of cake
It took exactly 23 minutes to transform my kitchen and bathroom tile from a gritty eyesore to pristinely clean. (Normally I wouldn't track this sort of thing, but the app actually does this for you.) However, while my floor was immaculate after using the Tineco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6, the device itself was in need of a cleaning – it actually let me know via a voice prompt right as I was wrapping up the job.
Luckily, all the gross stuff is compartmentalized for your convenience. Simply remove the dirty water tank, pour out the filthy brown water into your toilet, and that's taken care of after a quick rinse. Of course, there was also a lot of solid debris which became attached to the dirty water tank's lid. Initially not knowing how exactly to clean this, I arrived at a serendipitous idea, placing it in a mop bucket and rinsing it off in my tub. After a complimentary scrub with the included cleaning brush and rinsing out the dry filter, the dirty water tank was now clean.
After completing the simple cleaning process, I set the device down on its charger, whereupon it informed me the time had come for it to automatically clean its brush roller. It did this without a hitch via high-speed spinning and automatic heating, and it was clean, soft, and fluffy once again in just about 10 minutes.
The Tineco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 will innovate your cleaning routine
To be sure, the Tineco FLOOR ONE Stretch S6 is an investment. However, it's impossible to overstate just how innovative this device is. For one thing, it transformed my hours-long sweep-mop-sweep routine into a pleasant task that now takes less than 30 minutes a week. Additionally, all its main selling points – powerful cleaning, next-level maneuverability, intuitive smart features that make your life easier, and the ability to clean under low-clearance surfaces – worked like a charm.
Furthermore, despite the FLOOR ONE Stretch S6's impressive technology, it's an amazingly simple product to use ... and I'm not exactly an early adopter of high-tech cleaning products. Seeing as how this device will cut hours of tedious mopping and sweeping out of my weekly cleaning routine, I can see it quickly paying for itself in time saved for more important matters.
