Bring Your Kitchen Outdoors With IKEA's Summer BROGGAN Collection

Are you hoping to enjoy some meals on your patio this season or preparing your home to host summer parties? IKEA's BRÖGGAN collection has the best items for eating or serving outside. The collection, launched in April, was a collaboration between IKEA and Ida Pettersson Preutz, a Swedish artist known for her bright patterns. Not only does the BRÖGGAN collection contain a wide variety of summer-themed products, from throw blankets, rugs, and cushions to cutting boards and serving supplies, but many of them can be easily used indoors as well as outdoors. For example, the collection's stoneware bowls ($13) have a summer vibe but could be used any time of year, as well as the glass dessert bowl (about $5) with a stem.

Much of this bright and cheery collection includes vibrant green and yellow tones and lots of polka dots. Preutz discussed this design choice in an IKEA press release. "The dot is a simple yet bold pattern and iconically IKEA. We also wanted to create a retro feeling with the shapes and colour combinations. The round shape in yellow looks like the sun, adding a summer vibe. I believe bright colours make us happy!" she said. With this new gorgeous collection, you can decorate for summer and make your patio the ultimate outdoor entertaining destination.

Incredible kitchen items from IKEA's BRÖGGAN collection

Thankfully, for those with a tighter budget, IKEA's secrets to keeping their prices low extend into this new collection. The simple yet elegant glass carafe is just under $10 and would be perfect for serving lemonade or iced tea on a hot day–additionally, the glass goblets for $4 match, making the cutest drinkware set. The retailer also has disposable napkins with adorable summer designs for under $3. Another inexpensive but versatile item is the serving tray, which is adorned with orange, yellow, and green polka dots and could help you easily bring your drinks and snacks to your backyard without spilling your punch. For those who prefer a more minimalist serving option, the acacia wood cutting board can double as a beautiful charcuterie board and help you in the kitchen throughout the rest of the year.

If you tend to avoid using nice tablecloths outside because of potential messes, IKEA's wipeable tablecloth is just $20 and is coated with a water-repelling substance, making it simple to wipe up a spill. It would also be nice to use indoors during other seasons to protect your dining table. Though the acacia wood serving cart with wheels is a bit more expensive (currently on sale for $79), it would be a convenient accessory for those who entertain a lot and plan on having a party-packed summer. With the BRÖGGAN collection, you can bring the best parts of your kitchen to your patio.
