The Stunning July 4th Pool Noodle DIY That Will Add Some Spark To Your Yard
Yard decor is one of the most exciting Independence Day traditions. Every year, homeowners throughout the United States transform their lawns with festive red, white, and blue decorations to show their love for the patriotic holiday. Decor can get expensive, though, and it can be difficult to figure out how to decorate for The Fourth of July without breaking your wallet.
Thankfully, if you're on a budget, you don't have to skip out on the fun — use a pool noodle to craft an affordable American flag-themed decoration for your yard. To complete this DIY garden or lawn ornament, you'll need to create the flag design on a red pool noodle using white and blue tape. Since the materials needed for this project are so inexpensive, you may want to make multiple and line a walkway or place elsewhere throughout your yard. Get as creative as you want and don't hesitate to throw your own ideas into the mix!
Creating your festive pool noodle
The Hometalk video above shows exactly how to craft this yard decoration in just a few steps. As you can see, it really is as simple as creating the American flag design with blue and white tape and star stickers and cutting a larger hole into the top of the pool noodle. Then, remove the bottom portion of a broom and hammer the stick into the ground — this is what will hold your DIY creation. Afterward, simply slide the pool noodle over the pole and stick your light snugly into the top hole.
You can purchase the supplies you need for this DIY from Dollar Tree to make things super affordable. For example, the store's Tool Bench Duct Tape comes in blue and white color options. You can also snag a red Foam Pool Noodle. Although the store's website doesn't feature the decorative light shown in the video, you could use a Stainless Steel Solar Yard Light Stake instead. Dollar Tree conveniently also sells detached Essentials Black Plastic Broom Handles, which are perfect for this project.
