Fixer To Fabulous Stars Give You A Peek Inside Their Own Personal Bedroom Suite
We've seen Dave and Jenny Marrs of HGTV's "Fixer To Fabulous" renovate gorgeous homes for their clients. But in 2024, the couple and their family have finally turned their talents inwards by renovating their own home and sharing it with their fans. The Marrs' redid their home in time for the holidays and the resulting episode was more emotional than usual. "In full transparency, we hadn't planned to renovate our house on the show," said Jenny Marrs on her blog. "But our filming schedule was extended so we made a quick decision to squeeze our remodel in before the end of the year so that we could be settled before Christmas."
That remodel included a complete revamp of their personal bedroom suite. Not only did they redesign the bedroom, but they completely changed its location. The end result is unlike anything we've seen from them before. From the bedroom space to the bathroom and an added sitting room, here's the highlights of the "Fixer To Fabulous" personal bedroom suite.
How Dave and Jenny Marrs transformed their bedroom
Dave and Jenny Marrs renovated their entire home, including the living room and kids' spaces. But the biggest transformation was the main bedroom suite. "The transformation of our new main suite was a big one and the most emotional change for me as a momma," said Jenny Marrs. She revealed that the space was previously used as a nursery for her children but as they got older, they moved them into bedrooms upstairs, giving them the space to create a gorgeous primary suite.
But the Marrs' didn't just use the nursery space – they incorporated other areas near the nursery to make a space Jenny has always dreamed of. "We moved Luke upstairs and created a new main bedroom out of his old bedroom, a new sitting room out of his old playroom, and a new bathroom by combining his closet and our old bathroom. Our old bedroom became our new closet," said Jenny about the renovation. "Whew, it was a lot."
How to get a similar vibe for your suite
Dave and Jenny Marrs are known for their design aesthetic, so it's safe to say that fans will be pining for ideas from the couple's personal home. In fact, Jenny herself said that all the items in her renovated bedroom are items on her personal favorites list. "We've waited 10 years to remodel our bedroom and bathroom and I specifically chose ALL of my very favorite things for the design. I love, love, love every single thing in here!" Those favorites include the Belgian Flax Linen Natural King Quilt from Crate & Barrel for $349.95, wallpaper from Kelly Ventura, and a bedroom rug from their own collection with Better Homes & Gardens from Walmart for $144.
The rest of the suite includes a comfortable sitting room painted a rich green and affixed with soft white couches, natural accents, and artwork by Buddy Whitlock. The couple pulled out all the stops for their new primary bathroom with a glass shower enclosure, wood-flanked sauna, and ceramic soaking tub. Plus, there's the brand-new closet with floor-to-ceiling cabinets and an ample amount of space.
