Use TikTok's Baby Oil Hack To Get Rid Of Roaches In Your Kitchen

Discovering an army of cockroaches marching through your kitchen can be disheartening, to say the least, especially if you're not sure how to eliminate them. However, one TikTok user who goes by the name @mystiluxe shows how a simple dash of baby oil can wipe out cockroaches in one fell swoop with minimal effort on your behalf. 

It's a great option if you don't want to throw a lot of money at solving the issue, as you shouldn't even need much of the product to get the job done. This makes it more manageable to deal with a large infestation in one go, and you may even find it easier to use in comparison to more tedious methods that take considerably longer or consist of more steps. If this sounds like a familiar tale, then baby oil could be your golden ticket to success. 

Although there isn't any scientific information or studies on this specific hack, there is some anecdotal evidence from users on TikTok who claim that it's effective; therefore, if you try it, you may just find that it's easy to say goodbye to the cockroaches scuttling around your kitchen, no matter how many there are. The best part? You only need one single product to get the job done, making the entire process a complete breeze from start to finish. What more could you ask for? 

For this hack, all you'll need is some baby oil — that's it. If you don't already have some, you should be able to find some at your local store or online from Walmart for less than $5, but you could also try using other types of oils, such as olive oil, another cooking oil that you have in your cupboard, Vaseline, or another mineral oil. 

In order to prepare your sink, you'll first need to clear it so that it's empty. Apply a small amount of oil to your fingers, working it into the top edges of your sink all the way around. Try and imagine you're lining the edges of a cake tin while you're baking — it should feel nice and slippery. Don't be afraid to add a little extra if you feel as though you need more (it won't hurt either way). To coax the cockroaches in, add something sugary or starchy to the bottom of the sink, such as a small piece of cardboard, and if you want to kill them, mix borax into your bait. Whether you want to take this extra measure is entirely up to you and what you want to achieve. Either way, if you've applied the baby oil and bait correctly, cockroaches will begin to accumulate in your sink, making removing them much easier.

This hack works well to banish cockroaches from your home because the oil's slimy nature means that when cockroaches go after the bait, they essentially become imprisoned in your sink, because they can't crawl out — making it much easier to remove them.
