DIY A Thanksgiving Wreath For Your Front Door Using Only Items From Dollar Tree

As you prepare your grocery list for all the ingredients you need to make an unforgettable Thanksgiving dinner, don't forget about your fall décor. You might have decorated with pumpkins outside and inside your home, or maybe with a few fall flower arrangements on your tables. While pumpkins and flowers make excellent décors, take your decorations to the next level with a striking wreath hanging on your front door. You can buy a wreath from your local grocery store or closest retail store, but DIYing a Thanksgiving wreath is much more exciting. You can make one with your kids and give any extra to your friends and family. We have an incredible DIY Thanksgiving wreath you can make with materials from Dollar Tree.

The stars of this DIY are clothespins that will make up the base of the wreath; you'll need about 48 of them. You can find the clothespins at Dollar Tree, along with a pack of brass wreath rings and a small pumpkin sign with a fall saying like "Happy Harvest" or "Hello Fall." Anything that speaks to you will be perfect. This DIY will cost about $5 if you only need to purchase the three items from Dollar Tree. However, it will vary if you need other materials, such as a hot glue gun, twine, colorful markers, and E6000 glue. Although, if you're an expert DIYer, you might have most of these items already at home.

DIYing your Thanksgiving wreath

Start by choosing three different colored markers; they can be fall-related or completely unexpected colors to go alongside the rest of your décor. Then, take one marker and color 16 clothespins, coloring only the top, sides, and inner surface of the backside. Then, color another set of 16 clothespins with a different color and the last set of 16 with the final marker. You should have three sets of 16 clothespins in three different colors. Next, take your pack of wreath rings, remove the smallest ring, and tie a piece of twine to each side so you can hang it once you're done. Take your clothespins and place them around the ring, alternating between the three colors until you run out of space. Take your fall sign, add E6000 glue to the back along with a few dots of hot glue, and place it in the wreath's center. Finally, set a heavy book on top while the glue dries. Once it's dry, hang it on your door.

You can easily customize your wreath by collecting a few autumn leaves from your yard and gluing them along one side of the wreath. An effortless way to add designs to your wreath without gluing anything else is by drawing on the clothespins with different colored markers. You can draw turkeys, leaves, corn on the cob, ham, table settings, sweaters, wine glasses, etc. On the other hand, you can have family members write down what they're thankful for.
