The TikTok Hack That'll Keep Your Sectional From Sliding On The Floor

Sectional sofas are a great way to make a statement in any room. However, while they look great, sometimes you may find that yours is beginning to slip across your floor. This can be caused by dust, among other things. Thankfully, there is an easy way to resolve this all too common problem thanks to a TikTok hack, which shows how you can use some shelf liner to keep your sectional sofa in place. Not only will this stop it from jutting around, but it's also a relatively cheap option, especially if you already have some shelf liner on hand.

The best thing about this hack is that you won't need much shelf liner to get it done and can do it all by yourself, rather than having to move your whole sofa around and struggle in the process. So, how can you use some shelf liner to stop your sectional sofa from slipping? Simply grab some and get ready to go.

Wedge some shelf liner in place

For this hack by @mishaikia, all you'll need is a roll of shelf liner and yourself. First, just rip or cut off some sections of the material and fold them up to roughly match the size of your sofa legs. However, you can always just use a flat piece without folding it. You should be able to know what works when you try it. Now, simply wedge it in place below where your sofa touches the floor, which may require a bit of sofa-shifting on your behalf. However, it should be manageable as there are some easy ways to move sofas, especially if your sofa comes in two parts. You can test if the hack worked by using your sofa as normal and giving it a small push. If it doesn't slip across your floor, you will know it's worked. If it is still moving, you may need to adjust or add more shelf lining. It may be something as simple as the material slipping out of place.

This hack works so well because the shelf liner helps create a grippy layer between your sofa legs and your flooring. This makes it harder for it to move. However, you must ensure that you use the trick on all the legs for it to be most effective. Likewise, you should also ensure that your sofa is in the correct position before adding the liner to save you from moving it again.
