Should You Use Fabuloso To Clean Linoleum Floors?

Content creators and amateur cleaning experts alike sing its praises on the platform, recommending it to clean everything from trash cans for a fresh smell to stubborn stains on laundry. But should you use it to clean your linoleum floors? While it's a great all-purpose product that cuts through grime and dirt with ease, that doesn't mean you should use it to scrub everything in your house. For example, you don't want to add it directly to your washer to do laundry, and you don't want to pour it into your toilet tank to clean your bowl. But as it turns out, if you're going to use it as a floor cleaner on linoluem, you should be perfectly fine to do so.

Fabuloso is safe to use on most types of flooring, including linoleum, vinyl, sealed wood, and tile. Specifically, it's safe to use on all non-porous materials since it will only sit on top of the surface. It also has a neutral pH balance, which means it won't negatively interact with most floors. For example, linoleum flooring can't handle acidic cleaning products, or else its coating can become compromised, so Fabuloso is a safe choice. However, there are still some caveats to keep in mind.

While Fabuloso might be safe to use on linoleum, there are still some rules to keep in mind to protect your floors. First, you need to dilute the formula before mopping with it. (This doesn't apply to Fabuloso sold in a spray bottle, since it already has been sufficiently diluted.) Diluting is important to do because the cleaning product is highly concentrated, and using too much can leave behind either a very strong cleaning odor or residue on your floors. To dilute it, mix 1/4 cup of the cleaning product with 1 gallon of warm water.

You also don't want to oversaturate the floor with the solution. While linoleum is known as a low-fuss flooring choice thanks to its water-resistant properties, that doesn't mean you can douse it with liquid. It's not waterproof, which means you can damage it if you leave standing water on it. To avoid staining or discoloration when mopping with Fabuloso, make sure to wring out your mop or rag thoroughly, only applying it damp to the surface.
