DIY A Stunning Hanging Patio Bar On A Budget With TikTok's Creative Idea

After a long day, most folks want to sit back, relax, and catch up with their family. Some folks hang out in the living room; others hang out in the backyard and talk about their day. You might make dinner and eat it outside as you talk; there's nothing better than having a cold drink to relax you. The problem with wanting a couple of drinks is you have to continue going back inside the house to get them. However, instead of pausing your conversations to go inside, installing a hanging patio bar can keep all your drinks at arm's reach. Full-fledged patio bars can be expensive to add to your home, and while bar carts can elevate the backyard, they take up too much space. However, TikTok has you covered with the perfect hanging bar using solely wood pallets and screws, making it the ideal budget-friendly project.

The hanging bar has a swinging door to hold multiple beverages, and you can easily open and close it so that it stores your drinks without it sticking out from the wall. It's the perfect start to creating your own cocktail or beer garden. To build your hanging patio bar, you'll need wood pallets, nails, screws, two door hinges, four nickel-plated screw eyes, two chains, a saw, a drill gun, and a hammer. You might want to have a few extra wood pallets for quality wood because they won't all be usable when you disassemble them. 

First, plan out where you want to place your hanging bar and how large you want it, so you have measurements for when you cut the wood pallets. Then, disassemble the wood pallets with a saw and hammer. Gather your useable wood pieces to cut them. You'll need five horizontal wood pieces for the base, four long pieces for the exterior to box in the base, one long piece to secure the base, two wood planks for the front side, and seven for the door. After all your pieces are cut, assemble the backside with your five planks evenly spaced out and nailed to two side pieces, creating a rectangle. Before closing the rectangle, add a plank to the middle of the base. Add a wood piece on the upper and lower sides and set aside.

Next, make your door by nailing one wood piece vertically to the middle of six wood pieces. Once the wood base and door are assembled, add two screw eyes on the door, one in each corner and the other screws inside the bar. After, attach the door to the base with the door hinges and screws, and hook the chains to the screw eyes. Finally, hang your bar on your wall, and you're done. If you want extra details, add a few shelves inside the bar to hold a few glasses or drill a bottle opener into one of the wood planks, but it's unnecessary.
