Add Color & Light To Your Yard With This Playful Fence Feature
A fence is a must for many yards due to the sense of privacy it offers. Nevertheless, the basic design of many fences is dull and could bring the look of your yard down, especially if you like a more eclectic decorating style. However, buying a new fence can quickly become a costly process, not to mention that it may not be possible if you currently rent your home. If you don't want to commit to installing a whole new garden feature, look no further than the following hack, which uses marbles to create a gorgeously rainbow-esque look.
You don't need many products to pull off this hack, nor much special equipment. Plus, it's easy enough to work on with children if you want to make it a fun weekend activity. Note that this decorating hack does require drilling, so it's always best to check if this is okay if you live in rented accommodations. Best of all, this hack can be done on a fence of any size, big or small, making it customizable. Here's all you need to know.
Create a gorgeously bejeweled fence in no time
For this hack, you'll need a drill, a super strong glue like Superglue, and several marbles in different colors (or one color if you prefer a monochromatic look). As demonstrated by @skyandforestherbs, drill holes that are slightly bigger than the marbles in several areas of your fence — this is your opportunity to create a pattern if you like, or you can just drill the holes in a more random formation. Next, take the glue and put a small amount in the drilled hole, using a pencil or other thin object to spread it around evenly.
Finally, grab a marble and slot it in the hole. It should stick well because of the glue, but you might want to hold it in place for a few seconds for better adhesion. Cute as this look is, some commenters on the above TikTok pointed out that the marbles could potentially start a fire if they reflect direct sun rays. Because of this, this hack is best if your fence is in the shade, and you should also keep an eye on it during particularly hot days. Otherwise, this is an easy way to brighten up your fence without the expense of painting it.
