Next, spread it around generously so that you can cover a good area, which should help the trick to be more effective. Now, watch this kitchen spice work its magic. However, there are some other points that you should keep in mind.  

 A single tablespoon of cinnamon can also be sufficient, but you may need more if you have a large sandbox. You should be able to get a feel for what's right. However, if the problem persists, you can always try adding a bit more. Just build it up slowly and steadily to find the right amount for you. Of course, you should always keep tabs on the weather, too. For example, a rainstorm could wash away the cinnamon, so you should reapply soon after. But what is it about cinnamon that makes it work so well against outdoor pests?
