The Dollar Tree Decor Hack That Creates Chic Storage For Anywhere In The House

Everywhere you look in your home, you're probably thinking that you need more storage. As organized as some of us might be, there's always a better way to store your necessities. There's something about having lots of small items out in the open that makes a space feel so much more cluttered and uninviting. Well, you might be surprised to find that Dollar Tree actually has a few items you can use for classy, beautiful storage anywhere in your home.

Much like other Dollar Tree storage DIYs, just because you bought something in a certain section of the Dollar Tree doesn't mean you have to use it for its intended purpose. YouTuber @HomeGoodDIYs ends up using glass vases (a 6-inch cylinder vase for $1.25 and a 10.5-inch cylinder for $3), mason jar lids, some adorable, flower-shaped incense holders, matte black spray paint, and strong glue to make truly gorgeous glass canisters for bath salts, shower vapor tabs, and other bathroom items. Of course, you can use this DIY hack anywhere in your home. It's important to note that you don't need the entire mason jar for this project, but you do need the lid. Feel free to use any mason jar lid you have in your home or buy a few mason jars at Dollar Tree. You can always repurpose those glass jars for other projects around your home.

How to make glass canisters for beautiful storage

The tutorial by @HomeGoodDIYs involved taking one of the ceramic incense holders, filling the hole in the top with glue and then gluing the base to a canning jar lid, which acts as a stopper so the incense holder doesn't slide off when it's placed on top of the glass vase. After gluing, simply spray paint the incense holder and lid with any color paint you prefer. You also have the option to use a spray-on clear coating as well, which will make the paint last longer. Once everything is dry, you can simply place your handmade lid on top of the vase and fill it with anything you choose. The video from @HomeGoodDIYs also shows that you can use the incense holder as a place to stow your rings while you're washing your hands as well.

If you're looking for something a little more minimal or rustic, you can also use a different top for your glass jar organizers as well. Instead of the incense holder, try some plain wooden coasters ($10) or wood slices for crafting ($14) as your jar toppers. You can buy these on Amazon, at a craft store, or check your local Dollar Tree for coasters or circular wood ornaments if they're available. As long as the top creates a little bit of a lip around the edge of the jar, they should be easy to take on and off.
