The Dollar Tree DIY That Creates The Cutest Cottage-Core Cloche For Your Space

Decorating for the change of the season requires a lot of inspiration, especially in the fall. With all the colorful fallen leaves and harvest vegetables found around every corner, you naturally want to bring some of that autumnal festiveness inside the house as well. But where to start? With all the table centerpieces and fall wreaths to choose from, you might find yourself becoming overwhelmed with options — some of which are not super economical depending on the look you want. Luckily, you can update your home for the season with a fall home decor DIY from Dollar Tree like this miniature cottage-core cloche made by @thediymommy on YouTube.

@thediymommy uses a small plastic globe ornament she found at Dollar Tree as her cloche, which she filled with floral moss, wooden mini mushrooms, and dried flowers to create an adorable, rustic, cozy display. If you can't find the correct globes at your local Dollar Tree, you can also order similar ones on Amazon. She simply glues all the items in a place where she likes them with hot glue and then also glues twine around the base to cover the plastic lid. Once you've assembled your cloche you can display it on its own or as part of a table centerpiece, as @thediymommy notes in the video.

How to take your cottage-core cloche to the next level

A cloche is basically a protective covering that you can place over anything you wish to shield or display. You can even cover plants to protect them from frost with a gardening cloche. Ever been to an old-school diner with cakes and pies resting on cake stands covered by a plastic or glass dome? That's a cloche as well. The beauty of a cloche is that you can make it anything you want it to be depending on what objects you'd like to put inside it. They make excellent displays for collections or special small items that you have around the house as well.

If you are interested in the cute, tiny mushrooms from the video, you can obviously glue them as is, or paint them in colors you prefer before gluing or adding other miniatures (like these gnomes from Etsy) to complete the look. If you're making multiple cloches, you can also glue your cloches to candlestick holders at different heights to make an impressive arrangement. Or, you can even do a spring-, summer-, or winter-themed cloche for when the seasons change. While you can certainly leave your cloche as is, adding water (and a little glycerine) can also transform it into a DIY snow globe. Just be sure that your small items are waterproof before adding any liquid elements.
